GTA 6 had its big unveiling on Netflix, and we now know more about the game than ever. Whether it’s characters, story, environments, or gameplay, Rockstar really gave everyone a deep dive into the experience in a way they have never done before. But one question is lingering: will a first-person mode be in the game at launch?

Here is what we know now and whether it could arrive down the line.

GTA 6 will not launch with a first-person mode.Amongst the previews for the game, one of the facts that has been revealed is that a first-person mode won’t be available in the base game on November 19, 2026.

This isn’t entirely surprising, as Rockstar Games doesn’t tend to launch with a first-person mode. GTA V‘s first-person mode didn’t arrive until the PS5 and Xbox Series version of the game released in 2014. We could see the mode arrive later down the line like with the last game, or Rockstar could completely omit it.

We just won’t know, but if we were to guess, we think it is more than likely it will be added in a post-launch update and potentially alongside the PC release when that happens.

“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
