Brandon Flowers performed ‘An American Dream’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and offered an update on the next Killers record – watch below.

The frontman appeared on the show last night (September 22) for a performance of the country-tinged track from his third solo album ‘Thrasher’, which was released last month.
Flowers also joined Fallon for an unusual “musical interview”, taking a seat at the piano and responding to a series of questions through song. Among them was a question about the next Killers album, with Flowers confirming that ideas for the record are continuing to take shape.
“We’ve got some titles floating around,” he sang, before joking that even if he knew what the final title was, his publicist would stop him revealing it. “It’s too early in the game.”

‘Thrasher’ brought Flowers together with veteran Nashville musicians including guitarist David Rawlings, pedal steel player Bruce Bouton and harmonica player Charlie McCoy, whose playing features on all four of Bob Dylan’s classic Nashville albums.
Flowers told Fallon that recording sessions would often begin with the musicians swapping stories, with McCoy recalling experiences working with Dylan, Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks and Waylon Jennings.
Speaking to NME ahead of its release, Flowers described it as his most personal record yet and said he finally felt “equipped” to write about some of the more difficult parts of his childhood.
He also revealed that ‘Thrasher’ is the first of two connected solo albums, with a more “romantic” follow-up already completed that he described as an answer to the “loneliness epidemic”.
In NME’s four-star review of ‘Thrasher’, we praised Flowers as “a much better storyteller than he gets credit for”, adding: “With country music, there’s nowhere to hide, now Flowers is out of his cage and doing just fine.”
Flowers has also been giving more detail on The Killers’ next record in recent weeks. He told NME last month that the full band had been meeting periodically in Salt Lake City to write and make demos.
“It’s the full band,” he said, adding that they had been working with Ariel Rechtshaid and Shawn Everett and were continuing to “chip away” at the material.
The singer is currently on his solo ‘Thrasher’ tour. Earlier this month, he brought out his 15-year-old son Henry to cover Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ in Salt Lake City.
His UK and Ireland leg begins in Bournemouth on October 14 and includes shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, as well as Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester, York, Glasgow, Birmingham and Dublin. Find the full list of dates here and any remaining tickets here.
