The new trailer for You Can See Everything has left fans on social media unnerved by how Elizabeth Holmes is portrayed.
The new documentary sees filmmaker Nathan Fielder move in with Holmes and her husband, Billy Evans, in the weeks leading up to her imprisonment for fraud in 2023, as well as following their lives after that. The trailer presents the film as a tense and dramatic, with Holmes’ cryptic answers appearing to puzzle Fielder in numerous scenes.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans reacted to the intimate nature of the documentary, as well as its unsettling narrative tone. “From what we have seen so far, it’s like a documentary that feels like a mockumentary that’s shot like a horror film” one person commented under Fielder’s post of the trailer, “and I don’t know how you planned that, but it certainly appears like you pulled it off.”
Others were left unnerved by how Holmes comes across in the film. The former Seranos founder maintains her innocence, stares for long periods of times at Fielder, and generally behaves in a way that left viewers questioning her motives.
“Why does this look incredibly unsettling?” asked one user, with another adding: “I’m not kidding when I say Jesus f****** Christ I was scared by the last five seconds. It’s so unnerving. Almost made me s*** myself my god.”

Referencing Holmes’ actions in the trailer, one post reacted: “Audibly said “what the f***” after she forced a tear from her eye, this looks insane.” Another shared a close up of Holmes and wrote: “This is the most uncanny valley thing I’ve ever seen that is somehow a real person’s face.”

You Can See Everything is released in US cinemas on October 16, with a UK date yet to be announced.
Fielder is known for the series The Rehearsal, which aired its second season last year. The filmmaker made headlines in one episode when he compared streaming service Paramount+ to Nazi Germany.
