It looks like the remake of the original Silent Hill game will launch at some point in 2027.

Game developers Bloober Team released a celebrated remake of 2001’s Silent Hill 2 in 2024. Last year saw the launch of brand new game Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall was released in September

In an interview with Famitsu last year, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto said the publisher’s aim was to release a new Silent Hill title every year.

According to a new report from MP1st, Bloober Team are hoping to release their remake of the original Silent Hill in 2027 after the project was officially announced last year alongside a 30-second snippet of audio.

MP1st also claimed that Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew have been cast in the remake, though their exact roles are still unknown.

Last month it was reported that super producer Roy Lee is looking to create a new movie reboot adaptation of the Silent Hill franchise. Lee is behind A Minecraft Movie, The Ring, It: Welcome To Derry, The Lego Movie, Don’t Worry Darling and helped Zach Cregger’sResident Evil movie get made.

The original Silent Hill movie was released in 2006 and took heavy inspiration from the first entry in the long-running psychological horror series. A sequel, which adapted Silent Hill 3, followed in 2013 and Return To Silent Hill came out earlier this year. All three movie adaptations have been panned by critics but have found a cult audience.

Speaking to NME earlier this year, Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka explained his goal with the soundtrack for the first game. “What I was trying to evoke wasn’t simple fear. It was a sense of psychological unease – the feeling that something is wrong, even if you can’t explain exactly what it is.”
