Noel Gallagher has promised that Oasis‘ ‘Live 27 tour will be “so much better” than their comeback shows in 2025.
The Britpop icons confirmed their tour earlier this week (Monday September 14), with plans for 38 shows kicking off next May.
Dates open with five nights at Glasgow’s Celtic Park, before an impressive 11 gigs at The Etihad in Manchester, followed by shows across Europe. In August, there are three shows in Boston and three in Las Vegas, and the tour then wraps up with two stops at Slane Castle in Ireland and four at Knebworth.
The announcement comes following their new documentaryDon’t Look Back In Anger arriving in cinemas, which was then followed by a teaser campaign that culminated in a drone show over the Etihad.
Directors of Oasis’ new documentary Don’t Look Back In Anger, Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern recently told NME there was a lot of apprehension ahead of the previous tour at the first show in Cardiff.
Lovelace said: “Obviously at Cardiff there was a huge nervousness from everyone. ‘How is this going to work? Is it going to work?’ Then across the tour you see them on stage as they play those songs and the crowd get to experience those songs in different places. Their relationship just gets closer and closer.”
Southern added: “He [Noel] actually says in the film that he wishes he was able to call a time-out and go back to the dressing room because he completely underestimated what this would be. I think we did as well. Standing in the crowd and filming, I felt something beyond anything I’ve ever felt at a live show. It felt like the crowd needed it as much as they wanted it.”
Now, Noel has said he is more relaxed about the upcoming shows.
“This tour is gonna be so much better because all of us will be way more relaxed than we were last time,” he told TalkSPORT. “We were all anxious last time as to how rehearsals were gonna go and how the tour was gonna be received and all the mithering about the tickets and that kind of thing.
“But this is gonna be a lot more fun this time and we’re gonna put on a great show and it’s gonna be unbelievable.”
In the same interview, Noel revealed that they settled on the idea of another tour early into their Live ‘25 tour dates after seeing the massive response from fans.
Speaking about Cardiff previously, he said: “For me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes, I was like, alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?”
“I’ve done stadiums before and all that, but I don’t mind telling you, my legs turned to jelly after about half-way through the second song. It’s been an amazing thing, it really is an amazing thing.”
Fans have been quick to share their excitement at the newly announced dates online, although some have been already dreading the process of trying to get their hands on tickets this time around – following a chaotic online queue last time, as well as the controversial use of dynamic pricing.
Oasis have already said that, following the chaotic struggle to get tickets for the first wave of Live ‘25 shows, they will be adopting the same on-sale model they did for their latter Wembley shows – inviting fans to register for the chance to buy tickets.
Fans must register before Thursday (September 17) at 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / 8am PT / 11am ET and can do so here, and those who are successful in the ballot will then be sent a code to access an allocated on-sale window at a specific time.
That on-sale time will take place across Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September in the UK. This registration process is the only way to buy tickets, and standard ticket prices will be fixed between £71.50 and £266.60, including fees.
As for new music, Noel has insisted that the “won’t be any”. Fans have also shared their hopes of what Oasis songs will be played next summer and whether they will play Glastonbury 2027.
