Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has announced a new tour for 2027 – check out the dates below:

Akira Yamaoka is a Japanese composer who worked with Konami on their spooky Silent Hill franchise between 1999 and 2009. In that time, he helped create the terrifying worlds of nine Silent Hill titles including the original trilogy, mobile game The Escape and the reimagined Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. He returned to Konami last year to work on the Silent Hill 2 Remake and brand new entrySilent Hill f.

“I’ve devoted my life to creating fascinating music and games that make people say, ‘This is so cool’,” reads his Instagram bio.

Earlier this year, Yamaoka set out on his first ever US headline tour and now he’s announced dates for a return.

Kicking off in California on March 17, this new run of shows will see Yamaoka playing eight shows in ten days. It’s not been confirmed if he’ll be joined by a band or if he’s performing solo.

Akira Yamaoka is set to play:

MARCH 2027
17 – Fox Theater, Oakland
19 – Roseland Theater, Portland
20 – Vogue Theatre, Vancouver
21 – Moore Theatre, Seattle
23 – The Depot, Salt Lake City
24 – Paramount Theatre, Denver
26 – The Fitzgerald Theatre, St Paul
27 – Riviera Theatre, Chicago

Tickets for the concerts go onsale this Friday, November 6 at 10am local time. Head here for more info.

On his 2026 headline tour in March, Yamaoka’s set pulled heavily from his work across the Silent Hill franchise.

Speaking to NME earlier this year, the composer explained that “Silent Hill isn’t about horror, it’s about fear, guilt, loneliness, grief, love, obsession and the contradictions that exist within all of us.”

“When people experience Silent Hill, they’re not simply confronting a fictional world – they’re confronting parts of themselves,” he continued, with recent scores inspired by the fraught nature of the modern world. “People are more connected than ever, yet many feel isolated. We have access to limitless information, yet it often becomes harder to understand ourselves. Those contradictions fascinate me.”

Last month, a new report claimed that a remake of the original Silent Hill will be released at some point in 2026 while a reboot movie adaptation is also in the works.
