Twenty One Pilots want fans attending All Points East to send them their footage and stories

The duo will make their debut at the London festival later this month (August 30), and want fans to share "something unique" to mark the occasion The post Twenty One Pilots want fans attending All Points East to send them their footage and stories appeared first on NME.

Twenty One Pilots have asked fans attending their upcoming All Points East gig to help chronicle the experience.

The Grammy Award-winning duo are set to make their debut at London’s Victoria Park on Sunday August 30. It will be their only UK concert of the year, and will see them supported by WunderhorseNova Twins and more – you can find any remaining tickets here.

Ahead of the gig, their creative and content director, Mark C. Eshleman, sent out a request to fans attending, inviting them to be a part of capturing footage from the night. Taking to Instagram, he told fans they would be releasing footage at a later date, but wanted “to add something unique to toss in between a few of the songs during the edit.

“I am on the hunt for about 10 fans that I can send both Hi-8 and miniDV cameras to capture a little of their fan life as well as the journey to the show,” he wrote.

“It will feel vlog-style but your footage doesn’t have to be very wordy. I am mostly interested in capturing what it feels like to be a fan. You can show off some artwork, what your themed bedroom looks like, an outfit you are making for the show.”

Auditions closed yesterday (August 15), and producers will collect cameras and footage when gig-goers arrive on the festival grounds later this month.

Earlier this year, Twenty One Pilots released a concert film, More Than We Ever Imagined, capturing a Mexico City gig on their ‘The Clancy World Tour’, which saw them perform to 65,000 people. Joseph and Dun provided commentary throughout the film, reflecting on their journey to the career milestone.

Back in July, they performed a headline set at Mad Cool in Madrid, which NME described as a “show that anyone can appreciate”, and more recently, brought their current festival run to Budapest, following stops across Europe.

NME’s Rhian Daly went along to their set at Sziget Festival, and described it as “the latest in a long line of theatrical performances, with fireworks and pyrotechnics glittering across the stage.

“As if that wasn’t enough to mark the set as a spectacular, Twenty One Pilots roped in a famous face to really seal the deal. “I’m Jack White and I give Tyler and Josh permission to do this,” The White Stripes frontman said in a pre-recorded video message that illuminated the big screens. The “this” in question? A field-uniting sing-along of ‘Seven Nation Army’ that proved to be the icing on the band’s show-stopping cake.”
